Taylor's 1st Birthday

Our little lady turned a year old yesterday! It is so hard to believe that an entire year has passed. She has brought such joy to our lives. Her whole face lights up when she smiles, and she smiles often! She squeals with delight and has the biggest laugh of any little girl I know. She adores her two big brothers and follows them around all of the time. They in return love on her and do a great job of looking out for her. We are eager to see all of the many ways God is going to use her.

Sunday we had a birthday dinner for Taylor. We went with a butterfly theme, and while it did not cost us alot of money, pulling together all the little details did consume alot of my time. I made windmills for the children, a butterfly chandlier (the one I intended to make did not turn out well, so I started over and really liked the result), cut out butterflies to decorate the silly straws, and made a birthday banner. On my to do list, that did not get done, was birthday hats and cupcake wrappers (which my wonderful husband worked hard on, but time ran out and we didn't get them on the cupcakes). I ordered edible butterflies from the etsy site and tried a new icing recipe. The butterflies were beautiful and the icing yummy; however my pastry bags were packed away and the ziplock bag trick wasn't cutting it, so we just sort of slapped it on! A vase of flowers her daddy brought her graced the table. Over all, everything came together well and we had a wonderful (loud) time!
